Installation
UsingOpen Studio runs on macOS (Apple Silicon), Windows (x64), and Linux (x86_64). You download it with a license key; every file is verified against the SHA-256 shown on the download page.
Before you start
- A license key from your purchase email. Keys are issued after the $19 Wise payment is verified, normally within 24 hours.
- Each key allows ten downloads within 72 hours. Each download click, or one run of the one-line installer, uses one.
- The installers are not signed or notarized yet, so macOS and Windows show a first-launch warning. The first-launch guide walks through both.

Verify a download
The download page shows the SHA-256 for the file you just fetched. Check it before installing:
# macOS
shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/UsingOpen-Desktop-MacOS.dmg
# Linux
sha256sum ~/Downloads/UsingOpen-Desktop-Linux.AppImage# Windows PowerShell
Get-FileHash $HOME\Downloads\UsingOpen-Desktop-Windows.exe -Algorithm SHA256If the hash differs, delete the file and download it again. If it still differs, email [email protected].
License keys and limits
- A key is valid for 72 hours after it is issued.
- A key allows ten downloads in that window.
- Keys are not tied to a device; there is no activation step in the app.
- Expired, exhausted, revoked, or unknown keys are rejected by the download endpoint with a message that says which case applies.
