macOS
The macOS build is for Apple Silicon (M-series) Macs. Intel Macs are not supported in this release.
Install from the .dmg
Download UsingOpen-Desktop-MacOS.dmg with your key, then:
- Open the disk image and drag UsingOpen Studio into Applications.
- Eject the disk image and launch the app from Applications.
Gatekeeper warning
The build is not notarized yet, so macOS blocks the first launch with “cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified”. To allow it:
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, and click Open Anyway next to UsingOpen.
- Or right-click the app in Applications, choose Open, and confirm.
This prompt appears only on the first launch. It goes away once the signed pipeline ships.
The full walkthrough, including the “is damaged and can’t be opened” case and Apple’s own guide, is in the first-launch guide.
One-line install
If you prefer the terminal:
curl -fsSL https://usingopen.com/install.sh | bashThe script asks for your license key and verifies the download before installing.
